Candied Pecan Recipe
I didn’t realize how many things I put these perfectly sweet, salty, crunchy pecans in until we were on set and I wanted to garnish everything with them. Are my Texas roots showing?! The truth is, they make everything better. What wouldn’t be better with a sweet salty crunch? Personally, I can’t think of anything.
Add them to salads, pancakes, ice cream — you can even eat them by themselves! They’re a great garnish to grab out of your cabinet to spice up your meals, and homemade candied nuts are a huge crowd pleaser. They’re so easy, literally only three ingredients!
Candied Pecans
Ingredients
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Water
1 1/2 cups Pecans
Directions
Preheat oven to 325F and line a baking tray with parchment
Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, whisking only until the sugar has dissolved.
Once boiling, pour pecans in and continue to boil for about 3-5 minutes. You want the pecans to start looking glossy and entirely coated.
Strain the pecans, making sure to keep the simple syrup for other yummy creations. Pour the pecans onto the prepared baking tray and bake for 7-9 minutes, or until the pecans are golden brown and aren’t sticky to the touch. Use a tester pecan to check by cooling quickly on a tabletop.
