Kitchen Tools: Ziplock Bag Holders

So this one’s pretty self-explanatory - a neat little gadget that holds open your Ziplock bags for you! It may seem trivial and unnecessary, but personally I found it to be great for a no-mess transfer; if you’ve got a kitchen helper nearby at all times, it’s probably not for you, but as someone who spends time in the kitchen solo, it’s been incredibly helpful. 

Just slide the Ziplock bag in the clips, fill it, unclip, and zip! I have a play-by-play in my TikTok review here to better visualize exactly how this works. You can adjust its height too, so using larger bags isn’t an issue.

If you meal prep by yourself, these are so great. Especially for marinating meats; it’s a great tool for keeping raw meat juices in the bag and off your counter. It’s also amazing for pastry bags. Filling a pastry bag is already an awkward process that takes all your fine motor control concentration and both hands; but clipping it into this lets you do it with ease! Just unclip and start decorating.

And as an added bonus, it folds down so you can easily store it wherever you’ve got a little bit of space left. The best thing about this is that it helps you work smarter in the kitchen - which is such an important part of the process so you don’t feel frustrated and stop wanting to cook!

Of course, the biggest issue here is that you’re using plastic bags, which I’m always trying to do less of. There are just some things in the kitchen, like marinating, that they’re perfect for. So if you’re feeling bad for using them, cut back wherever you can!

Getting beeswax paper for reusable storage, and glass tupperware for your everyday storage are great additions to help make your kitchen more sustainable. This is a new goal of mine and I just bought some of these products to review, so stay tuned for those!
