Cherry Bourbon Smash

Cherry Bourbon Smash

Fruity cocktails get a bad rap, but the truth is they can be extremely delicious when done right. The first thing to remember is only use the fruit that’s currently in season, this way the cocktail stays bright and fresh. The second thing to remember is, fruit is already sweet, so don’t go adding a lot of sugar otherwise it’ll be a total headache later. The rest is quite simple, muddle, pour, top with a fizz mixer, and enjoy!

Cherry Bourbon Smash

  • Yield: 1 cocktail

  • Active Time: 5 minutes

  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 cherries, pitted

  • 4 fresh mint leaves

  • .75 ounces fresh lemon juice

  • 1.5 ounces Bulleit Bourbon

  • Dash Bitters

  • Ginger Beer

Directions

  1. In a sturdy glass, muddle cherries, mints, and lemon juice.

  2. Once the cherries are broken down and releasing their juices add bourbon, a dash of bitters, and stir.

  3. Pour into the drinking glass of your choice, I suggest a rocks glass, add ice cubes and top with ginger beer.
